2024: A helluva year

Wow. This year was just…I really don’t have the words. I’ll try, though:

Beautiful. Surreal. Levitative. Mind-blowing. Devastating. Traumatic. Grounding. Humbling. Terrifying. Depressing. Restorative. Joyful. Self-reflective. Full of love – so full of love. Uplifting. And most of all, life-changing.

I thought 2023 was going to be one for the books, but 2024 ended up being one of my most insightful years yet.

To start with the positive — great things happened: I played four shows, and headlined AND sold out my last one. I dropped a super cool collab EP with two France-based friends/producers, LeDrips and Abdn. Months later, I dropped Liberation, my first Bengali/English song, featuring my ammu. I made a music video for it too (coming 2025). I started jamming and performing weekly (so much jazz!! my favorite genre to perform live!) with an amazing full band of talented musicians at a local bar/lounge.

I also met a few people that will have a lasting impact on my life, for better and for worse. But for all the good people, intentions, and actions that I’ve experienced and grown from, I’m grateful.

This was also a year I had to make two of the most difficult decisions of my life. And through making those decisions, I changed and grew. And, although this is self-reflection, I observed – acutely – that those I hold closest to me changed and grew, too. And, most importantly, I further cultivated my self-trust. And if that’s the best gift I’ve received in this timeline so far, idk what is.
