09.01: It’s a significant day to me. And I’ve had a lot to reflect on this past summer. But, summer’s technically still in session, no? So I guess it’s more a day-to-day reflection process regardless.
I know I haven’t posted in a few weeks. BUT. I have good reasons, I swear. One of those being that, so far this summer, I’ve played three shows. I’m hoping to play another soon, and have finally been feeling rejuvenated over the last four weeks or so. The featured image on this post is from my first gig with the Dreamgirl Producer Bag party back in July. There, I performed my singles SMOKE and GOLD.
I also started learning to play synth for my gigs, and I brought it out for the last two gigs. It’s been a hit! But damn, it’s a heavy piece of machinery. It’s worth lugging it around though (although it’s been realllllly helpful when my friends help me take it to and from my car): the textures from the various synth sounds I matched with each song in my set (Jawline has been making some waves again, but live) feels like the missing piece I’ve been seeking for live shows. Now, my endeavors to play live again is a reality.
I’ll be writing a post for the other two shows I played last month; I think they each deserve their own moment. Stay tuned, y’all.
xo,
Malsi
